=== Online Generator ===
The web generator on https://mmrandomizer.com consists of two major parts. The generation page and the seed page.

On the generation page, you can set up your settings, select presets, and alter the experience your seed is gonna become.
[[File:Web Generator.png|left|thumb|1092x1092px]]

You are also able to patch MMR patch files here. Note however that due to how patch files are generated by the randomizer, the patcher will only work with patch files generated with the same version of the randomizer from the website.

Once you have set up your seed settings, you can generate your seed via the '''Generate Seed''' button. The '''Generate Race Seed''' button encrypts the seeds and makes it more secure. In addition, the spoiler log will be hidden.

After generation is complete (which takes 10-20 seconds), you will be redirected to the seed page.

The URL follows the naming convention of ''"<nowiki>https://mmrandomizer.com/seed/get?id=680574</nowiki>"'' where the 6 digit ID at the end is unique to your seed. This is particularly useful for sharing seeds with friends or sharing the spoiler log when asking for help. (Note that the seed ID at the end of the URL is also present in the default file name of randomized roms. We recommend not changing rom names to keep this piece of information always with the seed.)

On this seed page, you can gain additional information about the seed, check the spoiler log if one was generated, and, most importantly, actually generate your final seed. You have the option to change cosmetic settings before patching.

For a normal N64 seed for use on everdrive or most emulators, leave the Output type toggle on <samp>.z64 (N64/Emulator)</samp> and browse to your rom file. For WiiVC/vWii/Dolphin, swap to <samp>WAD (WiiVC)</samp> and in addition to the Base Rom, also browse to your 1.0 WAD and Wii Common Key files. You can only patch a randomizer seed if you have the correct files given, so this is very important.

Once everything is set, simply click <samp>PATCH ROM!</samp> The patching process uses your device's CPU, so how long this takes is dependent on your hardware. Once the process is complete, a download will begin. Save this new rom file separately from the original rom, and now it's time to proceed.

=== Local Application ===
[[File:Local Generator.png|thumb|559x559px]]
The latest version of the Local MMR Application can always be found on [https://github.com/ZoeyZolotova/mm-rando/releases Github].

After downloading, you may unzip the contents of the release files to a new folder. You are now ready to go.

Just like the generation page of the online generator, you may change your settings here. The outputs at the bottom decide the format of your ultimately generated files.

Note that the .mmr patch can only be used on the same platform with the same version (so for example all Windows users with 1.16.0-12).

Note that generation also requires you to provide an NTSC-U N64 v1.0 rom of Majora's Mask, and that a WAD file + Wii Common Key are required for Wii VC .wad creation.
